The Suva High Court will hear the Stay Application for Member of Parliament and former Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Manoa Kamikamica, next week.
This was confirmed in the Suva Magistrates Court this morning by defence counsel, Mr. Wylie Clarke, before Resident Magistrate Charles Ratakele.
Mr. Clarke informed the Court that the application had been filed this week, and the matter is scheduled for hearing on Wednesday, 3 December 2025, in the High Court.
The defence also requested a further mention date to obtain directions from the High Court before proceeding.
With no objections from FICAC Principal State Counsel, Ms. Lilian Mausio, the Court granted the request.
The matter has been adjourned to 29 January 2026.
Hon. Kamikamica is charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) with one count of Perjury, contrary to Section 176(1) of the Crimes Act 2009.
It is alleged that between 1 December 2024 and 31 March 2025, in Suva, he knowingly made a false statement under oath, claiming he had no involvement in the appointment of the FICAC Commissioner.
In the alternative, he is charged with one count of Giving False Information to a Public Servant, contrary to Section 201(a) of the Crimes Act 2009, for allegedly providing the same false information to the Commissioner of Inquiry.
