Police Detective charged

A detective Corporal of the Fiji Police Force was charged by FICAC today on 3 counts of Bribery contrary to Section 4 of the Prevention of Bribery Promulgation No. 12 of 2007.


It is alleged that between the 25 and 31 October, 2013 at Suva, Setoki Taveta, accepted an advantage totalling to $1650.00 from one Areez Ahmed Khan.


Setoki appeared before Magistrate Alipate Mataitini in the Suva Magistrates Court and was released on bail and has been ordered to:

  • Report to FICAC office every Monday's anytime between 8am to 5pm;
  • $500 security bond;
  • Not to interfere with FICAC's witnesses; and
  • Surrender all travelling documents

The case has been adjourned to the 12th of December 2013 for mention.
