Former Clerical Officer Pleads Guilty

Former Clerical Officer of the Attorney General's Office pleaded Guilty to the charge leveled against him, before Magistrate Somaratne on 21/10/13.
Samuela Foster was charged for obtaining financial advantage contrary to section 326 of the Crimes Decree No.44 of 2009. It is alleged that he manipulated the payroll system at the Attorney General's Office by inserting additional meal allowances into the pays of one Shakti Samat Singh and one Sebiuta Tukuwasa Ravoka, amounting to $5,279.00.
Foster upon entering a plea of guilty, admitted to the summary of facts as read out by the Prosecutor, Ms Drau.
Defence counsel, Mr J Waqainabete sought time to file mitigation submissions.
Case was adjourned to the 11th of November for mitigation.
