FICAC case against former PWD Machinist, Saiyad Aziz was called before Magistrate Somaratne this morning upon application for Defence to have the Accused bail varied to allow him to travel overseas.

Mr. Aziz is charged with one count of Soliciting an Advantage of $300 from one Nitinesh Naidu without the general or special permission of the President.

Magistrate Somaratne granted bail to the Accused on the following conditions;

• Accused passport to be released but surrender upon return on the 30/10/13
• To provide a cash bond of $2,000.00 which will be refunded upon return
• To provide 2 sureties in the sum of $10,000.00 each and;
• His bail condition is suspended for the duration of his travel

The case is adjourned to the 30^th of October for mention.
