FICAC charges former Chairman of Fiji Ports Corporation Limited

The former Chairman of the Fiji Ports Corporation Limited, Mr. Sialeni Vuetaki appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today.

He was charged with 1 count of Abuse of Office by Public Officers. His lawyers have asked for his plea to be deferred to a later date.

He appeared before Magistrate Amani Rokotinaviti and FICAC was represented by Mr. Paul Johnson.

Mr. Vuetaki was released on a bail of $1000.

The case has been adjourned to the 18th of November 2008 for mention.
