Case for former P.S for Infrustructure and Public Utilities adjourned

A former Permanent Secretary for Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Mr. Anasa Vocea appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court today

He was charged with 8 counts of Extortion by Public Officers. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and appeared before Magistrate Amani Rokotinaviti.

Mr. Vocea was released on a bail of $1000.

The case has been adjourned to the 18th of November 2008 for mention.


The Court also heard the case of the former Commissioner Central, Mr. Inoke Devo this morning. The DPP’s Office informed the Court that they had referred the matter back to FICAC to handle.

Magistrate Amini Katonivualiku remitted the case back to the Nausori Magistrates Court for mention on the 10th of November.
