Called in the Suva Magistrates Court today was the FICAC case against Sitiveni Weleilakaba.

FICAC Prosecutor Henrietta Matakitoga made an application to withdraw initial charges laid against the former Chief Executive Officer for Fijian Holdings Limited.

Weleilakaba is now charged with one count of False Information to Public Servant.

Magistrate Amani Katonivualiku heard that on 27th October 1992, Weleilakaba had given false information to the Registrar of Companies thereby causing the Registrar of Companies to declare that Fijian Holdings Limited was a Public Company.

Such an act would not have taken place if the true state of facts concerning the said Fijian Holdings Limited Resolution were known to him.

Weleilakaba who was represented by Mr. Caesar Lateef, denied the charge.

Weleilakaba was ordered to pay a fresh bail bond of $350

The matter has been adjourned to 26th March for mention.
