A Police Constable was produced at the Anti Corruption Court this afternoon 11 November 2021 on corruption related charges.

The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption charged Adrian Joseph Mangru with one (1) count of Bribery under the Prevention of Bribery Act.

It is alleged that between 22 October and 09 November 2021 in the Central Division, Mangru solicited an advantage of $200.00 from a private individual.

Mangru is alleged to have solicited the money on account of abstaining from performing any act in his capacity as a public servant.

FICAC State Counsel Lanieta More informed the Court that the first phase of disclosures has been served.

Magistrate Kiran granted bail for Mangru of $1,000 non cash and ordered to report to the FICAC Office every second Friday between 8am and 4pm.

Adrian Mangru was ordered not to change his residential address, not to interfere with witnesses, surrender all travel documents to the Court and not to apply for any new travel document.

A stop departure order has been issued against Adrian Mangru.

The matter has been adjourned to 22 December 2021 for the second phase disclosures to be served.
