BENJAMIN PADARATH AND TAINA ROKOTABUAVUKICAKE CHARGED

Benjamin Padarath has been charged with one count each of sedition, attempting to defeat the course of justice, destroying evidence and disobedience of lawful orders. He was produced in the Anti – Corruption Division of the Magistrates Court in Suva yesterday Wednesday, 31 March 2021.


Padarath appeared in the Anti – Corruption Division of the Magistrates Court this morning Thursday, 01 April 2021 when the matter was called for ruling on his bail application. Magistrate Savou in his ruling has transferred the matter to the Anti – Corruption Division in Lautoka as three of the counts had occurred in Lautoka.


Padarath is further remanded in the Natabua Corrections Remand Facility and will be produced on 08 April 2021 for his bail application hearing.


Taina Rokotabuavukicake has been charged with one count each of false information to FICAC Officer and attempting to defeat the course of justice.


Rokotabuavukicake was released on strict bail conditions and was ordered to surrender all travel documents, not to leave the jurisdiction of Fiji unless leave was granted by the Court, not to re-offend whilst on bail and to report to the nearest FICAC Office every Wednesday between 8am to 4pm. The matter is adjourned to 21 May 2021.
