A landowner charged for demanding payments pleaded not guilty in the Suva Magistrates Court today.

Mosese Ranavue was charged last July by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) with two (2) counts of General Dishonesty – Obtaining a Gain.

He denied demanding good-will payments of $3,600.00 FJD on three (3) separate occasions under the pretense that payment would guarantee the leasing of land to two (2) individuals when the decision did not rest with him but the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB).

The Defence Counsel informed the Court that there were admissions in the Caution Interview and sought time to consider their stance and approach on the same.

The matter was adjourned to 15 February 2021 with bail extended for the Accused.
