Former CWMH Recorder Pleads Guilty

A former Recorder with the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) pleaded Guilty to corruption related charges in the Suva Magistrates Court on 21 July.

Mr Samuela Wainibuli was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) with one (1) count each of Falsification of Documents and General Dishonesty – Causing a Loss.

In court today, he admitted that on 15 September 2019, he dishonestly falsified the Duplicate and Triplicate copy of the Ministry of Health (MOH) receipt number 091031, with the intention of causing a loss to the Ministry of Health.

He also admitted that on the same day, he dishonestly caused a loss of $54.50 FJD to the MOH by falsifying the Duplicate and Triplicate copy of the MOH receipt number 091031.

The Summary of Facts was read out, which was admitted to by Mr Wainibuli.

The matter was adjourned to 11 August 2020 for Sentencing.
