The Suva Magistrates Court ruled that there is a case to answer in the case involving a former Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS) employee on 17 December 2019.

Mr Pritam Singh was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) with one (1) count of Bribery.

It was alleged that while serving as a Tax Officer, the Accused accepted $1200.00 FJD cash and a cheque of $6300.00 FJD from a businessman in March 2015.

In delivering her ruling, Resident Magistrate Ms Deepika Prakash said that having considered the submissions from Prosecution and Defence, there is relevant and admissible evidence to implicate the Accused for each element of the offence and that a reasonable tribunal could convict on the evidence produced.

The matter was adjourned to 20 February 2020 for the hearing of the Defence case.
