Former Ministry of Agriculture Employee Charged

A former Agricultural Technical Officer from the Ministry of Agriculture appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court today facing corruption-related charges.


The Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) charged Ms Siliva Senivasa with one (1) count of General Dishonesty – Obtaining a Gain in 2015.


She is alleged to have received $450.00 from an individual as payment for land preparation under the Land Preparation Facility Program and kept it for herself.


FICAC State Counsel Ms Josann Pene informed the court that first phase disclosures had been served and that Prosecution was not objecting to bail, however, requested that strict bail conditions be imposed against the Accused.


The Accused was released on bail with a bail bond of $500.00 FJD.


The matter was adjourned to 17 February 2020 for Plea.
