A woman charged with Bribery and Preventing the Course of Justice pleaded not guilty in the Suva Magistrates Court today.

Ms Nur Jahan, who was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) in July, is alleged to have offered $2,000.00 - $10,000.00 FJD to an Assistant Court Officer in the Judicial Department.

This was allegedly done in an attempt to influence the officer to prevent an Appeal case from being heard in the Fiji Court of Appeal.

She is further alleged to have offered $600.00 FJD as an advance payment to the officer, before she was apprehended.

The matter was adjourned to 21 November 2019.
