Former Revenue Collector to be Sentenced

A former Rakiraki Magistrates Court Revenue Collector will be sentenced in October after admitting to committing corruption-related offences in the Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday.


Ms Saleshni Lata was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) in 2017 with a count each of Obtaining a Gain and Falsification of Documents.


She pleaded guilty to falsifying the Judicial Department Trust Fund Receipts and Maintenance Payment card to gain $100.00 FJD and also admitted to the Summary of Facts.


Time was given to both parties to file their mitigation and sentencing submissions respectively.


The matter was adjourned to 4 October 2019 for Sentencing.
