The Suva Magistrates Court granted time for a medical report to be provided in the case involving a political party representative.

Mr. Jale Baba was charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC) last October with one (1) count of Making a False Statement for allegedly publishing false Voter Lists and other information on social media.

Defence counsel Mr. Filimoni Vosarogo informed the court that Mr. Baba was unable to attend court as a result of a stroke suffered last year which left him half paralysed.

Furthermore, he requested one (1) month to enable him to prepare and serve the Court and FICAC with a medical report to confirm the same.

FICAC Senior Counsel Ms. Francis Puleiwai did not object to that request.

The matter was adjourned to 29 March 2019.
